The Hearne Depot Ntrak layout was originally built by the New Braunfels club and had been stored out of use for several years. It was purchased by Conrad Reinheimer just before the Covid pandemic. He and Bob Batson have cleaned it up, fixed the tracks, added structures, trees and other details. It consists of 15 Ntrak modules and features a working curved yard still under construction which fills four modules, including a corner. Several of the modules are the work of modelers who have passed away, like Mike Parkhill.

The depot was built in 1901 for passenger traffic on both the Southern Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroads. It was moved from its original location in 2001, restored, and re-opened as a museum in 2011. It features exhibits of local railroad history and memorabilia. Several additional N scale items are located on top of and inside display cases.

The museum also offers a large, covered viewing platform for railfans of Union Pacific operations on the adjacent tracks.
